GTU-12P gas turbine rated at 12 MW is in the assembly shop
of Perm Engine Company OJSC

Establishment of powerful cooperation for industrial gas turbine engines development and series production in Perm was caused by Ural-Gazprom complex program implementation. Thanks to this program development and production of gas turbines for gas transportation and power industry have become one of the principle activities of Perm engine group enterprises.

Presently Perm Engine Company OJSC, produces serially a wide range of gas turbines (GTU) rated at 2.5 ... 25 MW, which are used to drive gas compressor packages, gas turbine pump sets (GT pump set) and gas turbine generating sets.

Whereas initially Perm gas turbines development has been done in cooperation with Gazprom, today the largest Russian gas company remains the major final customer of Perm engine builders' products.
As of June 1, 2009, the share of serial gas turbine production under Gazprom order in the total amount of Perm production amounted to: gas turbines for pump sets - 86% (259 pcs.) gas turbines for generating sets - 64% (138 pcs.).

Meanwhile every year the share of so-called off-site customers, which are not in the structure of Gazprom, OJSC but need gas turbine equipment of Perm development and production is increasing. At present, in particular, such companies as LUKOIL-Zapadnaya Sibir Ltd, Tomskgazprom Ltd, Bashkirenergo OJSC, Sakhalin Energy Ltd and others are among the partners of Aviadvigatel OJSC and Perm Engine Company OJSC. New customers and search for new product markets make it possible for Perm specialists to diversify their business and reduce risks related to reliance on one large customer. • Off-site customers operating gas turbines and generation sets of Perm development and production, can be divided into the following oil-gas companies:
Surgutneftegaz OJSC, LUKOIL-Zapadnaya Sibir Ltd, RN-Yuganskneftegaz Ltd, Gazpromneft-Khantos Ltd.
  •  Independent gas producers:
    Novatek-Tarkosaleneftegas Ltd, Nortgaz CJSC.
  • Generating companies:
    Bashkirenergo OJSC,
ÒGÊ-9 OJSC (Perm), TGK-6 OJSC (Ivanovo).
  • Big industrial enterprises:
    Sibur-Khimprom CJSC, Silvinit OJSC.

The largest off-site customers of Perm are oil & gas companies. Note that oil enterprises, which up to now have focused on electric modules, currently are drastically changing their attitude to use of natural resources. Prohibition on associated oil gas flaring and essentially increased share of energy resources in the end product net price have stimulated a search for new ways of power saving. It is proved that gas turbines run on oil gas are the optimal solution of oil industry specialists' problems.

Surgutneftegaz was the first domestic oil & gas company that diligently began to implement the program aimed at own generating facilities building. By means of it the level of associated oil gas utilization achieved by Surgutneftegaz OJSC is the highest among Russian oil companies and is currently 95% required under the law. At present Perm Engine Company has delivered 31 sets of gas turbines to Surgutneftegaz OJSC (taking into account back-up gas turbine engines). Note that this company is the second largest customer of Perm gas turbine engines after Gazprom.

The third company among the largest end customers of Perm engine-builders products is LUKOIL-Zapadnaya Sibir Ltd. It is necessary to underline that LUKOIL OJSC is one of the largest international vertically-integrated oil & gas companies. Therefore the participation in projects implemented  by LUKOIL is surely very important for Perm cooperation enterprises. Currently 20 sets of Perm gas turbines (taking into account a back-up gas turbine engine) have been delivered to LUKOIL-Zapadnaya Sibir Ltd. Four more gas turbine sets are being manufactured.

As we see it independent gas producers having considerable natural gas resources and entering the market actively should be considered as rather promising customers for Perm gas turbines and generating sets.

So, territorial generating companies and industrial enterprises are interested in building of generating facilities on the basis of Perm gas turbines. Gas turbine techniques let them burn hudrocarbon fuel with high efficiency and therefore receive power and heat in power efficient cogeneration.

In recent years gas producing and transportation enterprises of foreign countries has showed active interest in gas compressor packages fleet renewal. First of all these are national gas companies of such countries as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan which are rich in natural gas. Currently gas transportation systems of these countries need immidiate retrofit, because 80-90% of the gas compressoor package fleet was put into operation in the Soviet Union period.

So, analysing the present product market of gas turbine equipment and taking into consideration interests of potential consumers, Perm engine builders state a stable demand in their products. Continuous design improvement and making our equipment meet international environmental standards let us be sure of the future.
