THE BEST SOLUTION FOR LOCAL POWER INDUSTRY
VICTOR OSIPOV
Enhancement of power efficiency is one of the foreground goals of our national economy development. During the recent meeting of Dmitry Medvedev, the RF President and the Prime Minister Igor Sechin the President noted: «Power efficiency is an integrated concept, and power efficiency depends much on the state of power industry, modernity of power machine building, produced equipment and on replacement of the earlier manufactured machines because they become out of date and it leads to different consequences including unfortunate ones. That is why I consider revival of Russian power machine building to be one of the directions for promotion of new up-to-date power efficient economy».
One of the ways out is to focus on new alternative technologies for power and heat supply. In the existing situation only those companies can feel themselves absolutely protected which have staked on the development of their own generating facilities. They permit not only to protect against power disasters but also to reduce considerably production price. Specialists of Aviadvigatel OJSC (it is included into United Engine Corporation - daughter company of Oboronprom OPK) have found an effective solution of power problems. The enterprise outputs in serial, conducts turnkey installation and also carries out after-sale services and current maintenance of gas turbines and GT generating sets rated at 2.5... 25 MW.

Among the customers of power equipment developed and manufactured by Aviadvigatel OJSC there are both small municipalities and the largest enterprises - the leaders of Russian fuel-power complex such as Gazprom, Surgutneftegaz, LUKOIL, Bashkirenergo and others. Perm GT gensets are especially important in northern regions of the country where new oil and gas fields are actively developed. Frequently on production sites of tundra there is no possibility to connect to any power. And gas turbines of Aviadvigatel are the only source of light and heat for boring and compressor stations and for settlements of shift workers in severe conditions of Extreme North.
This fact that GT gensets operate at natural as well as with associated gas permits companies to overcome successfully environmental problems of associated gas utilization and to reduce considerably cost price of the manufactured products.
In this issue we present several power projects of Aviadvigatel in 2009 and each of them deserves special attention.
