GTES-48 gas turbine generating set at Tevlinsko-Russkinskoye oil and gas fieldIn June 2009 the power generating set rated at 48 MW was put into operation at Tevlinsko-Russkinskoye oil and gas field, one of the largest fields in West Siberia.
GAS TURBINE GENERATING SET DESIGN
Tevlinsko-Russkinskaya power generating set includes four power generating modules EGES-12S based on GTU-12PG-2 gas turbines. The gas turbines are placed in easily assembled shelters (workshops) by two in each. The shelters are connected by covered warm crossings. Such decision allows to create comfortable conditions for the equipment service in the region where the temperature in winter goes down 50oC below Zero.
Several new design solutions were used both during Vat'-Yogansk power generating set and Tevlinsko-Russkinskaya GT genset construction:
- power generating modules EGES-12S are placed by two in each workshop;
- turbo-generator and gear are installed on a single frame;
- a separate protection module is used for turbo-generator module;
- automatic control system of power generating modules is combined in a single information network with stand-alone control.
Each of the genset workshops is equipped with necessary electrical equipment which ensures power generating modules operation, including low voltage package module of the turbine room, uninterruptible power supply units, low voltage package module and automatic control system of power generating modules. This enables to carry out commissioning of the prepared turbine room during power generating modules construction while the other workshops are still under construction. Moreover the indicated workshops autonomy allows to operate GT genset without control system of upper level which is extremely important under tight construction deadlines.
Power generating module con-sists of the following main elements:
- GTU-12PG-2 gas turbine;
- PR.55105 reducing gear;
- ÒS-12-2RUHLÇ synchronous turbo-generator.
Associated petroleum gas is used as a fuel.

ADVANTAGES
Due to operation of power generating sets based on gas turbines developed by Aviadvigatel OJSC, LUKOIL-Zapadnaya Sibir reduced oil production cost and provided Vat'-Yoganskoye and Tevlinsko-Russkinskoye fields with reliable power supply, and also continued to implement the program of associated oil gas recovery. And this means a considerable rise of environmental cleanliness and production effectiveness of LUKOIL-Zapadnaya Sibir Ltd oil fields.

LUKOIL-Zapadnaya Sibir is one of the most important customers of Perm engine builders.
The partnership relationships between these two enterprises started three years ago. LUKIOL-Zapadnaya Sibir Ltd carried out a tender for gas turbine equipment delivery needed for reliable power supply of Vat'-Yoganskoye oil and gas field. In serious competitive struggle with permanent rivals well-known over the world as Solar and Siemens Aviadvigatel OJSC won with gas turbine equipment of in-house design which had already showed good results in operation on strategic facilities of Gazprom and Surgutneftegas.
The significant reasons for choosing Aviadvigatel OJSC as a supplier were minimal delivery terms and readiness of Perm specialists for joint facility design and implementation of constructive decisions taking in response to the customer wishes.
The first contract for the delivery of six EGES-12S power generating modules for Vat'-Yogansckoe oil and gas field was signed in February 2007. At the beginning of the 2008 the largest auxiliary power generating set GTES-72 was put into operation.
The ability of Aviadvigatel OJSC team to fulfill obligations quickly, with high quality, promptly and responsibly was seen the true value. In 2008 the contracts were signed for the delivery of eight EGES-12S based on GTU-12PG-2 gas turbine and of four Ural series power generating sets of packaged type based on GTU-6P gas turbine. Again Perm specialists needed only half a year to produce the 48 MW generating set, install it and put into operation (in June 2009) at Tevlinsko-Russkinskoye oil and gas field - one of the largest fields in West Siberia. In September that year gas turbine generating set rated at 24 MW based on four Ural-6000 gas turbine gensets was put into operation at Pyakyakhinskoye oil and gas field - the second largest project of hydrocarbon production realized by LUKOIL in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
In our publication you will find a presentation of two gas turbine generating sets - Tevlinsko-Russkinskaya and Pyakyakhinskaya - which were put into operation in 2009.
