The first in Russia municipal gas turbine GTU-TEC Shigli with electric power of 4 MW and heat power of 7.6 Gcal/hour was built on the basis of GTES GT genset Ural-4000 in Bolsheust'ikinskoye settlement of the Bashkortostan Republic and was put into operation on December 20, 2000.

GTES is notable for its operational reliability. For the eight heating seasons the regional center is being supplied with the heat and electrical power from a single unit while usual boiler houses have two or more units as a backup.

The Ural-4000 GTES included into the GTU-TEC has proved its parameters compliance with all the requirements of the Design Specification. One of the key parameters of the power station is a reliable transfer from the parallel line operation to the autonomous operation mode and back. In cases of shutdowns of Bolsheust'ikinskoye settlement from the common network, the Ural-4000 GTES has always switched over trouble-freely to the autonomous mode - to its independent load. All Ural-4000 GTES systems cope with the load release and acceptance following the electric power quality rates specified by the GOST 13109 standard.

The Environmental certificate is one more evident benefit of the Ural-4000 GTES. The content of NOx at the gas turbine exhaust is less than 50 mg/nm3 (at 15% of O2).

Considering the high economic parameters and maintainability of the Ural-4000 GTES we have implemented another two gensets in the capacity of GTU-TEC power generating modules in the Agidel settlement.

GTU-TEC Agidel was built and put into operation in the shortest possible time owing to the modular construction type of the Ural-4000 genset which provides for simple and convenient transportation and assembly.

Equipment of GTU-TEC Agidel is located on the open ground as opposed to GTU-TEC Shigili where the installation is located in easy-assembled sandwich-type enclosure. Modules of power plant are delivered in complete factory readiness. It allows to put the plant into operation after two or three weeks from its GTES shipment to the construction site.

At present, the two GTU-TEC Agidel generating modules total running time exceeded 67 380 hours.

The Ural-4000 GTES units operate with waste heat KUV-10-150 boilers-utilizers (Sibenergomash, OJSC, Barnaul) in cogeneration cycle and provide Agidel settlement inhabitants with electric power and hot water all year round.

During the heating season, the GTU-TEC operates simultaneously with the existing boiler house. Heat utilization factor for fuel makes up more than 80% in base mode.

The workflow automatic control system for GTU-TEC Shigili and Agidel has been developed on the basis of domestic equipment and own software product. It has helped to reduce price and to considerable simplify the power facilities operation and maintenance as a whole.

Chief Designer of Aviadvigatel OJSC Alexander Inozemtsev.
GTU-TEC Agidel

The computer-aided process  control system including the Ural-4000 genset local control and monitor system operates with no complaints, reliably supporting the GTU-TEC fixed settings both electrical and heating.

The GTU-TEC functions non-stop during the entire heating season (for more than 4000 hours). It means that the gas turbines maintenance is carried out twice a year.

The operation of GTES requires minimum maintenance staff - 2 persons per shift.

We have no complaints to Aviadvigatel OJSC neither for the delivery terms, nor for the commissioning of GTES and for the operation results. Aviadvigatel specialists service our facilities efficiently with short closedowns of equipment.

I believe that the most promising direction for the development of the local energy is using of Perm GT gensets which arrive to customer in complete factory readiness and are characterized by high efficiency and reliability.
