Successful collaboration of power engineering specialists from Ivanovo and Perm engine builders started 10 years
ago with the reconstruction works of Ivanovskaya TEC-1
and it goes on till now.
In 2002-2005 the Ivanovskaya TEC-1, the oldest power plant in the region being used since 1928, was fully reconstructed. The reconstruction has been caused by need to replace the obsolete equipment and by growing demands for heat power in central and north-western parts of the Ivanovo city.
Reconstruction has been carried out with application of gas turbine technologies as of basic ones. It allows to reduce costs for heat power production at the expense of utilization of hot exhaust from gas turbines in boilers and to secure associated generation of electricity.
After thorough market study there have been chosen two gas turbines from Ural series manufactured by Aviadvigatel OJSC with one unit power of 6 MW. These were high-time turbines. Installation, balancing and commissioning works have been finished during 2003-2005.
The selected scheme and the correlation of the GTES single unit and boilers power rates allowed to provide for the whole range of thermal loads during a year with the highest utilization of gas turbines. It influences positively the specific cost price of sold electric and heat power. As of November 1, 2009, two Ural-6000 GTES have reached the total running hours equal to 24 243 and 28 867, having already produced 129 938 and 150 804 thousand kW·h of electricity respectively.
During operation time the equipment has completely proved its design characteristics and showed itself to be reliable and high-technology. The tasks set for our company are being successfully fulfilled due to the Ural-6000 GTES usage. It is necessary to mention the high rapidity in solving the GTES operation technical issues in spite of sizeable distance between the station and the developer.

No doubt that the gas turbine introduction into the structure of PGU and GTU-TEC is the most challenging direction for the energetic development for today and for the future.
