GTU-TEC Janus Gas Turbine. Perm Engine Company OJSCGas turbine thermal power plant GTU-TEC Janus was built in 1997-2001 within the frame of reconstruction of test stands belonging to Perm Engine Company OJSC.
Development and commissioning of the thermal power plant has been carried out step-by-step.
Phase 1.
In 1997 the power plant stand was built. It was used for the acceptance tests of the first specimen of gas turbine GTU-4P developed by Aviadvigatel OJSC.
Phase 2.
Since 1998 the exploitation of the test stand of Janus power plant at Perm Engine Company OJSC has secured serial production of the GTU-4P including for modular power plants which were ordered by Gazprom, RAO EES Rossii and others.
Phase 3.
In April 2000 the acceptance of electrical part of GT genset with complete switching center KRU-6.3 kV was carried out, and the parallel operation modes of GTES with Perm power system and autonomous power supply of Perm Engine Company were provided for, as well as switching from one mode to another one.
Phase 4.
In October 2001 the acceptance took place of the GTU-TEC Janus with steam recovery-boiler Ê-10/09-80-440 manufactured by Krasny Kotelschik TKZ OJSC (Taganrog). It is officially recorded that GTU-TEC Janus allows to generate electricity with rated power of 4 MW and up to 10 t/h of steam with the following parameters: steam temperature equal to 319 °Ñ, steam pressure equal to 9 kgf/cm2.
Phase 5.
In October 2003 a modernization of GTU-4P into GTU-6P was held.
A great design effort on development and upgrading of the test stand based on GTU-TEC Janus carried out by Aviadvigatel team ensured high rates of operation reliability of gas turbines produced by Perm Engine Company OJSC.
Besides, the resources of GTU-TEC Janus make it possible to conduct not only research, development and acceptance testing of Aviadvigatel gas turbines with power rate from 2.5 to 6 MW but also certificate testing of serial products made by Perm Engine Company OJSC. Particularly a certification of serial gas turbines has been carried out with application of Janus to define conformity with environmental requirements (including a content of NOx in exhaust) and with the State Mining Inspection Gosgortekhnadzor requirements.
Between the tests Janus is successfully used as GTU-TEC for combined electricity and commercial steam generation.
