Perm Motors Will Display Their Last Innovation Developments At 5th Fair of Business Angels

During April 25 -26, 2007 5th Fair of Business Angels and innovators "Russian Innovations - Russian Capital" will be held in the Exhibition Center "Perm Trade Fair" (65 Gaganin Boulevard, Perm).

Perm Motors Group - the largest engine building company of Prikamie region with vast scientific potential - will demonstrate a number of innovation projects and in particular, a new generation aero-engines family and GTU-30P gas turbine.

Family of New Generation Aero-Engines for Passenger and Transport Aircraft.

The plans of the Aviation Co., Inc. (OAK) envisage a significant rise of the production output of serially manufactured models of aircraft and development of new passenger and transport aircraft both for the Russian market and for export. It is predicted that to the year of 2015 the level of such products will reach 10% of global sales. For such aircraft development and production a range of new aero-engines is required.

The proposed innovation project provides for the development and serial production of a family of competitive turbofan engines with the thrust of 9, 12 and 18 tons by 2014-2015. These engines will have better performance and fuel efficiency parameters compared to the up-to-date and future foreign-origin aero-engines of the similar thrust range. The engines will be installed on regional and trunk-route aircraft with 70-350 passengers seats and on 10-60 ton transport aircraft as well.

A baseline engine of the family - PS-12 with 12-ton thrust - is actively being developed at Aviadvigatel. Aviadvigatel in cooperation with CIAM and other Institutes is currently creating scientific and engineering backlog, mastering key technologies and testing new structural materials.

The PS-12 engine will be installed on a new developed short-and-medium-haul aircraft - MS-21 (Ilyushin Aircraft Company) - with passenger sets up to 170 and flight range up to 4500 kilometers and on a multi-purpose transport aircraft being developed by Irkut Concern and Ilyushin Aircraft Company in cooperation with the aviation industry of India.

The main advantages of the PS-12 engine is low specific fuel consumption, which maintains high fuel efficiency of an aircraft, low cost of life cycle, compliance with future noise and emissions requirements, competitive price, high service life and reliability and well-developed network of servicing.

GTU-30P
The GTU-30P is a new development of Aviadvigatel. The objective of the innovation project is to develop a gas turbine drive of simple cycle with the power of 34 MW and efficiency of no less than 39% (ISO).

The gas turbine will be used in advanced gas pumping packages, for retrofitting and re-equipment of already operating gas pumpers and compressor stations. The gas turbine can be used for power generation as well.
