Perm Gas Turbine Will Give Light and Warm to Vnukovo Airport
At the end of March in Perm the first GTE-10PK gas turbine was submitted to the Customer. The gas turbine was manufactured against the order placed by Vnukovo Aircraft Repair Works.
The GTE-10PK gas turbine based on the D-30KU/KP aero-engine and rated at 10 MW is a joint development of Aviadvigatel and Vnukovo Aircraft Repair Works (VARZ-400). The contract for the development and manufacture of two GTE-10PK gas turbines was signed late in December 2005. The gas turbines are to be used in a gas turbine CHP plant.
The first gas turbine for the Vnukovo's gas turbine CHP plant is made as a test bench for testing gas turbines produced in Perm. The gas turbine putting into service is scheduled for June 2007. The second gas turbine, which will be equipped with a boiler for heat production, will be shipped to the Customer during the latter half of the year.
A delegation of VARZ-400 representatives headed by the First Deputy General Director, Mr. Soloviov, arrived to Perm for the products acceptance.
Mr. Soloviov is sure that the gas turbine CHP plant on the basis of the D-30KU/KP aero-engines fully satisfies the Vnukovo Airport needs in electric power and heat. As he said the development and successful putting of 10 MW GTE-10PK into operation at VARZ-400 will offer the challenge in equipping new CHP plants in many regions of Russia, including the Moscow region.
Additional Information:
The D-30KU/KP engines, which form the platform for the GTE-10PK gas turbine development, are one of the most reliable products in the history of the Russian Aviation Industry. The engines were designed earlier in 70s for the IL-62M and IL-76 aircraft. The components and parts of the new gas turbine are manufactured on the basis of parts and components, which were developed under GAZPROM order and have totally accumulated more than 5 million running hours in service.
