Outcomes of Perm Motors participation in MAKS’2005
August 23, 2005. PERM MOTORS GROUP companies traditionally took part in MAKS Air Show, Zhukovsky town. This year the key companies of PERM MOTORS GROUP - Aviadvigatel Open Stock Co., Perm Engine Co. and Reductor-PM - showed their products under a common brand "PERM MOTORS".
At PERM MOTORS exposition a full-scale model of the PS-90A2 aero-engine was presented. In the nearest future the engine will become the main engine for Russian middle-and-long- haul aircraft. The partner and co-investor in this project is the well-known American engine company, Pratt & Whitney. In July the PS-90A2 engine passed tests at Aviadvigatel's test facilities that validated all earlier declared engine parameters. At present Perm Engine Co. is mastering the technological processes of the engine components serial production.
One could see the best developments of the Russian aviation at MAKS'2005 and among them the Perm-produced engines and gearboxes: the Ilyushin IL-96-300 of Kubana Airline, the Tupolev TU-204-300 of Vladivostokavia Airline, TU-204 of Dalavia Airline, new cargo aircraft IL-76TD-90VD of Volga-Dnepr Airline, military transport aircraft IL-76MF, multi-purpose helicopter "Ansat", well-known Su-47 "Berkut", MiG-31, M-55 "Geophisika", helicopter "Night Hunter".
At MAKS'2005 the Perm PS-90A-76 engine, presented at the booth of the RF Air Forces, was the focus of specialists' attention.
During the first day of MAKS'2005 Air Show PERM MOTORS GROUP and "Azerbaijan Hava Yollary" State-own Concern signed the Memorandum of Understanding, within the scope of which PERM MOTORS will deliver to Silk Way Airlines four PS-90A-76 aero-engines more for the updated cargo aircraft IL-76TD-90.
On August 18, 2005, at MAKS'2005 Air Show, the acceptance certificate of the first PS-90A-76 engine for the updated military transport aircraft of the RF Air Forces, IL-76MD-90, was solemnly signed.
For the Ministry of Defense the acceptance certificate was signed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Forces, Vladimir S. Mikhailov. After the engine acceptance certificate signing, the joint press conference was held, at which Vladimir Mikhailov said that the RF Air Forces are planning to re-engine 12 IL-76 aircraft by the PS-90A-76 engines. Mr. Henrich Novozhilov, the General Designer of Ilyushin Airframe Company and one of the creators of the Il-76 aircraft, attended the ceremony of the engine acceptance certificate. He evaluated the PS-90A-76 engine transfer to the RF Air forces as "the remarkable event".
During the first day of the Air Show Alexander Inozemtsev, the General Director of PERM MOTORS GROUP Management Company, met with Andrei Kostin, the President of the Foreign Trade Bank (Vneshtorgbank Open Stock Co.) During the meeting the prospects of cooperation and PERM MOTORS development strategy in future were discussed.
August 17 was declared as the Day of Perm Region. The Perm enterprises of aerospace industry held presentations of their achievements. Oleg Chirkunov, Perm Region Governor, top managers of Perm engine building companies, "Iskra" SPA, "Kamkabel" OJSC, "Inkar" OJSC, "Star" OJSC and "Mashinosrtoitel" Federal Unitary Enterprise took part in the presentations.
On August 19 PERM MOTORS GROUP and Russian Research Institute of Aerospace Materials signed the Agreement for mutually beneficial cooperation in the development and implementation of materials and technologies for up-to-date and advanced aviation and industrial engines.
In June 2005 Aviadvigatel's quality management system was re-certified and during MAKS'2005 the representatives of the Quality Certification Center of CIAM (Central Institute of Aviation Engine Building) granted the certificates. The documents have confirmed the compliance of the company's quality management system with the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2001. The certificates are valid till August 2008.
The industrial machinery orders portfolio of the Perm engine building companies has been significantly enlarged.
The negotiations were held with the Moscow Region Administration for the delivery of three gas turbine generating sets, the GTES "Ural-6000" rated at 6 MW, for Zvenigorod. The GTES "Ural-6000" gensets of the combined cycle type will produce both the electric power and heat for the town inhabitants. The terms and conditions of the gensets delivery will be set forth in a Contract, which will be signed in the nearest future.
"Int-energo" OJSC, "Transenergo" OJSC and "Aviadvigatel" OJSC signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the delivery of the gas turbine gensets ranging from 6 to 16 MW to Hungary. The signing of the first contract is planned for November.
An Italian company, FoxEnergy, confirmed that they are ready to buy two GTES "Ural-4000" gensets rated at 4 MW from Perm, as well as to continue working on the Contract for the gensets delivery to Solar Electronic concluded in August this year.
During the negotiations with Moscow Helicopter Works the agreement was reached to re-new the production of main gearboxes for the Mi-34 helicopter next year. According to the preliminary data the scope of the order under this project will reach 30 sets of gearboxes.
Kazan Helicopter Works confirmed its interest in purchasing transmission systems for the Mi-23 "Ansat" helicopter. To arrange the complete cycle of the gearbox test for this helicopter it was decided to construct a test stand at "Reductor-PM" premises. The issues of the transmission systems tests and production for the Mi-28N "Night Hunter" were discussed with Rostov Helicopter Works. It is worth noting that both the helicopters (The Night Hunter and Ansat) were displayed at MAKS'2005 and were of great interest paid by the specialists and guests of the Air Show.
The negotiations for expanding the scope of cooperation (repair and maintenance of Perm-produced helicopter gearboxes and transmission systems) were conducted with the representatives of foreign airlines: Ukraine, Byelorussia, India, China, Czechia, Columbia, Malaysia and other countries.
According to the investment program of PERM MOTORS GROUP, Reductor-PM signed the Contract for delivery to Perm of two modern milling centers for machining gearboxes and transmission systems cases and housing amounting to 500,000.00 Euro.
